Overview

LeanData's BookIt integration with Gong enables users to automatically generate unique Gong conferencing links for their scheduled meetings. This integration allows for use of Gong’s recording consent collection and meeting analytics while supporting various conferencing providers through Gong's conferencing platform.

Prerequisites

• An active Gong account with technical admin access.
• An active LeanData BookIt subscription.

 

Setting Up the Integration

Setting up the LeanData-Gong Conferencing integration requires two steps:

1. A Gong technical admin must authorize the integration for the entire organization, and
2. Each BookIt user who plans to use Gong Conferencing must connect their individual account.

 

 

Step 1: Enable the Integration (Technical Admin)

As a Gong technical admin:

• From the LeanData app, navigate to Integrations > BookIt tab > Video Conferencing section in LeanData
• Locate the Gong Conferencing tile, and click Get Started

• On the right side of the following page, click Authorize.

• Log in as a Gong technical admin (OAuth) to authorize the integration.

 

Step 2: Connect Individual Users

For each BookIt user:

• From the LeanData App, navigate to People > Users > BookIt Tab.

 

• Find and select your User name
• On the Video Conferencing tab, click Connect on the Gong Conferencing Integration tile.

• BookIt automatically connects to Gong Conferencing using the account linked to the User's BookIt authorization email.
• (Optional) After connecting to Gong Conferencing, users can set Gong Conferencing as their default conferencing tool.
  • All meetings booked with the user will respect their default conferencing tool selection.

Once configured, the integration will automatically create unique Gong conference links for each scheduled meeting and add conferencing details to calendar invites.

 

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: What if the connection fails?

Ensure that:

• The user has valid conferencing permissions in Gong.
• The Gong technical admin has properly authorized the integration (Step 1 above).
• The user's email in Salesforce / BookIt matches their Gong account email.

 

Q: Why isn't my Gong link appearing in calendar invites?

Check that:

• Gong is set as the active conferencing provider for the user.
• The user has successfully connected their account (Step 2 above).
• There are no conflicts with other calendar add-ons.
