Overview

Refreshing a Salesforce sandbox creates a new Org, copies the metadata and data from the source Org, then deletes the Old org after activation. Because of this, the refreshed Sandbox org will then have a new Org ID and LeanData will need to sync your settings to your new sandbox org. That being said, there are a few steps to take after a refresh is performed in order to ensure your LeanData products are active and functional.

 

Pre-Sandbox Refresh Considerations
Export/Save Data

Prior to refreshing your sandbox, export/save any needed data from your old sandbox. Data from your Production instance will overwrite any data from an older version of your sandbox. LeanData cannot recover any data that is lost when a Sandbox is refreshed.

After Refresh Steps

1. Authorize a Salesforce Token

Please follow the steps outlined in our LeanData Admin - Token Authorization Guide in order to successfully authorize a Salesforce Token for your newly refreshed Sandbox Org.

If it shows that the token is already authorized or the button is not present, use this authorization link while logged into your new sandbox instance: Authorization Link for Sandbox Instances. 

 

2. Reach out to LeanData Support

Once a Salesforce Token has been authorized, please contact LeanData Support with your new Sandbox Org ID in order to have your LeanData products enabled and your desired settings applied. Your Org ID can be found by following this navigation path:

LeanData ➔ Admin ➔ My Account 
 

 

3. Designate a LeanData Integration User & Restart the Scheduler

Once you have reached out to LeanData Support to inform them that your Sandbox Org has been refreshed, provided the new Org ID, and your LeanData products/settings have been enabled, you will need to designate a LeanData Integration User.

Once you have a designated LeanData Integration User, log into your sandbox with this User and click the “Restart Scheduler” button within the LeanData Admin section to start the LeanData job.
